Beach Day

Well it ended up being a great day to play hookie from work! Friday was a fantastic beach day and I was so happy to be able to spend some QT with the girls. The weather was incredible and I got some great shots of the girls on the sand! We took a walk down to Theater By the Sea and Hannah got a big kick out of it. She posed in front of the sign and I couldnt help but think that maybe someday, she would star in one of their plays! I cant tell you how much delight I get out of seeing her enjoy many of the same things I did as a child!

This week has been a tough one for me. Without going into detail, it has just plain out sucked. I am hoping the end of the week gets better and that is all I will say on that.. for now.

To Beach or Not to Beach?

Okay, so we decided Mommy would play hookie from work today and take the girls to the beach with Auntie Ju Ju for the day.. except.. whats with all these clouds? It has been storming here for the past 3 days and we were seriously hoping for some sun today. Fingers crossed this guck is going to clear out and we'll be able to catch some rays at Matunuck!

I am sure I will have plenty of pictures to share as the day goes on! Til then!

The Girls

Thankfully, neither one of my girls are camera shy and they know right away what to do when Mommy reaches for that camera! Some day I would love to take pictures of kids as my profession!

Here are the girls this morning. These pictures are for Uncle Don and Auntie Leslie in Tennessee. They bought Layla this onesie and I was finally able to get some pics of her in it! It's soooo cute! THANKS UNCLE DON AND AUNTIE LESLIE!

Hannah's Home~

So after the terrible thunderstorms yesterday afternoon, my Hannah finally came home!!! We definitely missed her and once again, the house is back alive! We got in our cuddle time last night and Miss Thing ended up in my bed last night because the storms continued on throughout the night.

My Hannah Funny: As I was trying to get her washed up last night (A sponge bath due to all the lightening) (SIDE NOTE: I was struck by lightening as a kid and I am still deathly afraid of it!) she was trying to play in the water in the sink and I told her that wasnt a good idea! After we got her washed up I told her to go to her room and put her jammys on. So she runs in her room and runs back out and says, "Are you sure it's okay to put on my jammys during the lightening?" (Note to self.. try not to make your kid paranoid about the things you are paranoid about!) HAHAHAHAHA

These are some of my favorite pictures from our Summer vacation on Block Island. My dear friend Melisa was nice enough to let me download all 300 of her photos so I could upload them onto my own computer!

Block Island is truly our slice of heaven and Hannah can't wait to go back! On a daily basis she asks when we are going back again!!

Here are the girls with their girlfriend Miss Olivia!

Too quiet

So Miss Hannah slept over Grammy's last night and I swear you could hear a pin drop in our house! It was way too quiet for my liking!!! I am soo not a fan of sleepovers!!! I know she enjoys them so I dont mind from time to time, but man.. I cant wait to give that little monkey a big squeeze!!! The house just seems so empty without her and Billy agrees. Not that Layla isnt full of life and laughter, but Miss Hannah certainly keeps us all on our toes!

Speaking of Miss Layla and laughter, I am going to post some new pics of her. She started sitting in her high chair and she cracks me up by putting her feet up on the tray! I swear this kid is GUMBY and I am certain that she'll be a gymnast someday! Her flexibility is insane!!!! I just get the biggest kick out of her and those feet!

Time for work now... I am sure there will be more to post as the day goes on!

Okay, so most of you who know me, know that the most important thing in my life is my family. I swear there is nothing better in life than my family and I am grateful that we have much of it. From Billy's family to mine, to our own growing family, there is always something fun going on and a million functions to be a part of. The reason for creating this blogspot? I really wanted to have record of all the great things in my life and the wonderful moments spent with my family, especially my girls. Time flies way too quickly as I have learned and I want to be able to reflect on all of our wonderful moments in life! So in the spirit of the reason why I started this blog, I would like to reflect on my two tiny miracles.. Hannah and Layla.

I am really finding it difficult to swallow the fact that Hannah has turned 4 and Layla 9 months! Wasnt it just yesterday that I was begging Layla to come out early because I wanted her to arrive before my parent's trip to Italy? Whoaaa and I mean Hannah... she has just grown into such an amazing little girl. I cant even wrap my mind around how sick she once was and how differently life almost turned out. Not only is she well.. but she is smart as a whip. So intelligent and so very funny, and very strong willed! Watching her at her birthday party was just amazing! The "bumble bee" theme was a hit and so were my homemade 19 cakes for the kids to decorate! It was technically our first real KIDS party and I cant wait to have more!

We spent this past Sunday in Mystic. It was a blast. Auntie Leanne, Cousin Arielle, Grammy, Momma, Pa, the girls and I. First we went the the aquarium and then downtown. The shops were adorable and I made Billy promise we could go back and do some damage at "The Black Dog." We ate our ice cream, or at least tried to .. most of it melted in the heat! (Leanne, I am still laughing at the image of you handing your ice cream over saying, I just cant do it!!!) We watched the old drawbridge go up and down to let boats through and we took our own mini boat ride. It was great to spend this time with my girls. I dont get to do these fun things too often with them because of work. It was great to see Hannah so happy and boy Layla was a DREAM! I dont think she made a peep once and she spent most of the day in her car seat!!!

I also wanted to wish Auntie Ju-Ju and Uncle Moppy a Happy 2nd Anniversary! HOLY COW that was two years ago????????????? Enjoy your dinner this evening and cheers to that new bean due in November!
